T'was a calm evening complete with the most beautiful shine from the moon. I sat at the table with ease listening to chatters of dogs and bears, all the while a rather strange piece of music was playing. The atmosphere was nice, and only a single line of thought crossed my mind: "If AlphaNova was a dinosaur, he'd probably be a carnivore."
I soon grew rather tired of sitting, and decided to take a walk up to the western side of this night-filled town. Before long, a serene tune caught my attention. It was coming from the lamp shop just further west. I grew curious, and as I went to see what was making that tune, one single line of thought crossed my mind: "I wonder if AlphaNova knows the truth about eggs?"
I climbed a set of stairs and found a centaur playing his little trusty harp. He didn't seem to mind me being there, so I entered the lamp shop since it looked interesting. There I met Monique, she considers herself a siren but to me she looked more like a harpy. I made small talk to her, and she mentioned how she was having financial problems because her lamps were being left unsold. I didn't really care much, as only one line of thought crossed my mind: "I don't think AlphaNova would appreciate being bald."The centaur from before then came in, and introduced himself as Gilbert. He addressed Monique as "his love" and said that he would help her sell the lamps if she would love him back. Monique didn't seem to mind at all, and gave the centaur six pieces of light bulbs. I followed Gilbert outside and he requested my assistance. He bought 3 of the lamps for himself, and asked me to help him sell the rest. Of course, I could've just bought the lamps and it would solve everything, but I wasn't a rich bastard, so I attempted to sell the lamps to the locals. As I went to do this, one line of thought crossed my mind: "If I gave AlphaNova a rice cooker, he could probably make bread."I soon regretted this decision as none of the locals there share the same tongue with me, and I could not understand their language. Luckily, the owner of the pub, the biscuit man, was able to teach me how to speak their tongue, even if it is just the basics. It was a great success, and as I walked back to give the money to Gilbert, one line of thought crossed my mind: "Why doesn't AlphaNova ever wear a bow tie?"Both Gilbert and Monique were overjoyed to see the outcome, and they both walked outside to enjoy the moonlight. Gilbert played his harp as Monique sang to the melody. Good thing we weren't near the sea. Gilbert spoke about taking Monique in his travels, but the siren loved her shop and her lamps too much to leave them behind. Differing opinions are never good, and soon Gilbert realizes that he needs to find a new love. Monique didn't seem to mind either. They went their separate ways, and only one line of thought crossed my mind: "Would I be scared by AlphaNova if he turned into a ghost?"I went inside the lamp shop to see if Monique was okay. Just as I entered, a few of the local bears and dogs went in and told her how much they loved her lamps. She was happy to hear that of course, and didn't regret her decision to stay in this town of endless night. And that's when I realized: "I DIDN'T GET ANY REWARD FOR HELPING OUT!?"to be continued

Not ad lib, more like a visual novel kinda thing.
The next few days, I decided to give myself a break from crab hunting and went to the resort town by the harbor. As I walked through the market, I could hear people gossiping about some sort of ghost haunting the resort. When I asked one of the shops what's happening, a mermaid suddenly popped up near the water. She dismissed the rumors and said it was stupid to believe in ghosts. This peaked my interest, but when I asked her a bit more about this ghost, she didn't want to talk about it. Feeling disappointed, I made my way to the hotel as one line of thought crossed my mind: "I probably shouldn't laugh at AlphaNova's misfortune."I made my way to hotel and saw the manager. He seemed pretty worried as he was losing customers due to rumors about a "ghost". He requested my assistance in catching the ghost and finding its true intentions. I came here to take a break but... screw it, I probably couldn't sleep well knowing a ghost is haunting my hotel. As I walked to the beach, one line of thought crossed my mind: "I wonder if AlphaNova would harm a spider?" When I reached the cape, I met an imperial soldier named Thoma. He too seemed interested with this ghost lurking about. When I asked why, he explained that his friends were involved in a shipwreck incident even though there were no harsh winds that day. As I left the cape, a ghostly figure urged me to follow it. It looked cool, so I decided to tag along. As I followed it, one line of thought crossed my mind: "How many AlphaNovas would it take to defeat me?"The ghost led me to a... dance hall? It promptly disappeared and I was left there looking at a girl dancing with a human sized fish watching her. Am I suppose to talk to one of them? I didn't want to disturb the dancer so I asked the uh... fish, about the ghost. Without warning the jackass kicked me out of the room, saying that he's already booked the whole dancing room to himself. Was I just trolled by a ghost? As I got up I saw Thoma entering the hotel and asked me if I had any clues. I told him what happened... and with a shocked reaction he rushed straight into the dancing room. I decided to follow, and one line of thought crossed my mind: "Throwing tomatoes at AlphaNova would be pretty cool."
When I went back inside, Thoma was already asking the fish to show him the "jewel that reveals the truth about the sea" or something like that. Of course, the fish declined at first... but then the dancer said she's interested to see it too. Without delay he pulled the blue gem out and we were shown a sort of vision from the past. It was a couple of knights within a ship, as if preparing for war. As they were ready to launch an attack, and that's when everything went quiet. An eerie but calming voice could be heard, and in turn the ship began to rumble, slowly being destroyed and drowning. That voice could only mean one thing... a siren was involved. Now knowing the truth, Thoma rushed out and gathered his men. The hotel manager also told me that the ghost hasn't been appearing as of late. That's all fine and cool I guess, but now what should I do? Should I help the imperial soldiers get their revenge? Or should I go find Monique and tell her about this?

I hanged around with the mermaid for a while. Her name is Flameshe and apprently she was being a rebel by running away from home. We have a badass over here. Uh, anyways, I thought about the soldiers and the sirens for a bit, and decided to go back to the town of endless night to talk to Monique. When I arrived, imperial soldiers were found left and right, and yet they still haven't found Monique's lamp shop. N00bs. As I made my way to the usual stairs, one line of thought crossed my mind: "Despite his name, AlphaNova probably wouldn't be the alpha male if he was a wolf."When I reached her shop, she was her usual self, as if nothing bad has happened. I asked her about a shipwreck in the past but she doesn't seem to recall. "Hmm.. I think I'll take a break at the beach!" she said... I guess my talking about the sea made her want to go. But weren't there imperial soldiers around looking for her? As I realized that, I went outside to see if she was captured. Oddly... they were still looking for her, and she just left town unnoticed. As I was facepalming at them failing, one line of thought crossed my mind: "I wonder if AlphaNova would look good in a furcoat?"Well to each their own I guess. I went back to the harbor to talk to Flameshe again. As I went pass the hotel, I found Monique near the entrance. I approached her to greet her but as I walked to her, a couple of soldiers rushed past me and grabbed her. They seem convinced that Monique was the guilty siren, but as they were about to take her in, Thoma arrives, and said that there's no need to take her as they've "already found a siren". Huh... so as long as its a siren, it doesn't matter who they get. Monique was let free, but she seemed worried. They said they were keeping this other siren at the beach where I step on crabs, so Monique promptly made her way there. As I followed, one line of thought crossed my mind: "Didn't AlphaNova slipped on a banana peel once?"When we arrived at the beach we went LEFT!!! Goddammit I hate going left. As we reached the end, a gigantic tropical birdcage stood before us. Flameshe was there too, and she explained that the soldiers had put the siren inside so she wouldn't cause any more disasters even if she sang. Monique told the siren that I can help her get out. When did I say I'd help out?? But the siren said she doesn't mind staying here if it means that she won't cause any more suffering. So I guess it was her who killed Thoma's men. As Monique tried to get her friend to come out, one line of thought crossed my mind: "AlphaNova would make a good viking."I didn't really want to get involved since they soldiers has a point... but as I told Monique I was gonna leave, I heard a monster's screech coming from inside the cage. Flameshe said that the soldiers had placed a monster there to stop the siren from coming out as well as anyone else from helping her. I hadn't had lunch that day, so I dashed inside. As I made tropical sald out of the monster and attempted to devour it, one line of thought crossed my mind: "AlphaNova, y u so ecchi?"The monster ran away unfortunately, and I was left to starve to death. The three of us went inside to see the siren, Elle, sitting on rock in the middle of a small pool, singing wholeheartedly. Monique and Flamshe thinks that she shouldn't listen to those soldiers and sing however she wants, whenever she wants. Elle thanks them, and said that she'll think about it. As they sat there doing their girl talk, my hunger grew... and honestly, even that mermaid is starting to look delicious. Either way, they told me to come back later coz the need me to do something. Might as well go find some crabs in the meantime. to be continued

After a couple hours of pointless fishing, Flameshe told me to go back to the birdcage. She then proceeds to leave the beach with Monique. I went back inside and spoke with Elle, who told me she wanted to go see the outside world again. I get it, I'm gonna have to watch over her I guess. As Elle and I made our way to the harbor, one line of thought crossed my mind: "AlphaNova is pretty moe now that I think about it."I was still hungry, so I suggested we head to the restaurant by the hotel first. She didn't seem to mind. When we went inside, lo and behold, Gilbert was there. The moment his eyes met Elle's he quickly made his way towards us. Gilert made comments on Elle's beauty and whatnot, it was pretty much deja vu with the whole Monique thing. I ignored him and made my way to a table. I ordered the cheapest thing there ('cause I'm a stingy asshole), and made quick work of lunch. When I turned my head towards Gilbert and Elle, they were already gone. Oops? I thought he might have chased her back to her bird cage. As I made my way there, one line of thought crossed my mind: "I should buy AlphaNova a cat."As my brilliant mind predicted, Gilbert was standing outside the bird cage, calling for Elle to come out, kinda like a Facebook stalker. When Flameshe arrived on the scene to tell Gilbert to "go the hell away", I think his exact words were: "If I hadn't found Elle I would've fallen for you." Not sure if this guy can ever find true love. In any case, Flameshe and I went inside the cage without Gilbert noticing and talked to Elle. She felt sorry for Giblert and considered going out with him just once even though Flameshe was disagreeing wholeheartedly. "Should I go?" Elle asked. "Bring back souvenirs." I answered. As Elle went out to meet Gilbert again, one line of thought crossed my mind: "In the character select screen, I'll probably put AlphaNova at the bottom trollolol."The next day, I thought of visiting my penguin friends. I boarded their pirate ship and made my way to the captain's cabin. On the way there, there stood both Gilbert and Elle. The hell they're doing here? I ignored them and went to see the walrus captain. When I asked him why he let a siren and a centaur on his ship, he said he was going to sell them to the black market once they've docked. How evil! But I liked the plan so I didn't tell the two lovebirds. When I went back to the deck to see how they're doing however, the penguin pirates were already trying to seize them. They just couldn't wait huh? As I stood there watching poor Gilbert getting pinned down, one line of thought crossed my mind: "ALPHANOVA SMASH!"Elle pleaded the penguins to let Gilbert go, but as if they would listen to her. Feeling guilty, Elle slowly raised her head... and started singing. T'was a beautiful melody, and I was too caught in its harmony to realize that the whole ship was being torn apart. I woke up from my trance when I gigantic sea orc was already attempting to devour the ship. I didn't care for the smell, so made quick work of it and blew it to oblivion. Elle then apologized for almost killing us all, but the the captain came by, and surprisingly told her to keep singing. She declined at first of course, but since the captain insisted that the ship is not so weak that a siren's singing could destroy it, Elle finally let her voice go one more time. As she started singing, one line of thought crossed my mind: "If AlphaNova is Batman, then I'm Subzero."The ship began to shake, but as disastrous as it was, the captain prompted Elle to keep singing. The penguins were running around in panic, until Elle finally finished her song, and we were all still in one piece. "Told ya so!" The captain called out to me. I simply shrugged. Just as they were about to let Gilbert off, he made a smart remarks on how the penguins "are always angry because they couldn't get girlfriends." The captain went silent, and told the penguins to make him walk the plank. I kicked the centaur off the ship, leaving Elle quite shocked. We were near the port of the magic city so he should be okay... I think. to be continued
